In Search of Excellence
Lately, we’ve been thinking a lot about one word: excellence.
Not as an obsession with making everything perfect. Nor as a way of demanding more than necessary.
We mean something much simpler.
Showing up when you said you would.
Replying.
Keeping your word.
Caring about a detail even when no one asked you to.
Speaking up when something isn’t going well.
Taking responsibility for what you do.
They may seem like small things, but we’re increasingly convinced that they build something much bigger: trust.
Excellence Is Also Found in the Small Things
At Sumo Detalle, this is how we try to work.
We aim to do things well, to learn, review, improve and take care with what we deliver. Sometimes we get it right, and sometimes there is room to do better. Excellence is also about being able to see that.
A Way of Working, but Also a Way of Being
Perhaps it’s worth pausing for a moment and looking at how we work, how we treat the people we collaborate with, and what we leave behind with every commitment we make.
Because a healthier society is not built through big ideas alone.
It is also built by answering a call. Arriving on time. Taking care with your work. Respecting other people’s time. Doing whatever is in front of you just a little better.
We want to keep moving in that direction.
Towards a more conscious, more responsible and more considered way of working.
Towards excellence understood as a way of being.
En busca de la excelencia
Últimamente pensamos bastante en una palabra: excelencia.
No como obsesión por hacerlo todo perfecto. Tampoco como una forma de exigir más de la cuenta.
Hablamos de algo mucho más sencillo.
Llegar cuando has dicho que llegarías.
Responder.
Cumplir tu palabra.
Cuidar un detalle aunque nadie te lo haya pedido.
Avisar cuando algo no va bien.
Hacerte responsable de lo que haces.
Parecen cosas pequeñas, pero cada vez tenemos más claro que construyen algo mucho más grande: confianza.
La excelencia también está en las pequeñas cosas
En Sumo Detalle intentamos trabajar desde ahí.
Buscamos hacer las cosas bien, aprender, revisar, mejorar y cuidar aquello que entregamos. A veces acertamos y otras tenemos margen para hacerlo mejor. La excelencia también consiste en darse cuenta.
Una forma de trabajar, pero también de estar
Quizá merezca la pena parar un momento y observar cómo estamos trabajando, cómo tratamos a las personas con las que colaboramos y qué dejamos detrás de cada compromiso.
Porque una sociedad más sana no se construye solamente con grandes ideas.
También se construye contestando una llamada. Llegando a tiempo. Cuidando el trabajo. Respetando el tiempo de los demás. Haciendo un poco mejor aquello que tenemos entre manos.
Nosotros queremos seguir caminando en esa dirección.
Hacia una forma de trabajar más consciente, más responsable y más cuidada.
Hacia la excelencia entendida como una manera de estar.
